In St. Paul and school districts across the nation, shortfalls in school-lunch programs are a real challenge. Enter Metropolitan State University community faculty member Pam Fergus. Starting with a goal of $5,000, students in her Psychology of Diversity class, have raised more than $97.000 for the Philando Feeds the Children Campaign — an amount that will make a big dent in the St. Paul Public Schools school-lunch deficit. Meanwhile, at a time when citizens are challenging the names of lakes and schools and public monuments, one neighborhood in South Minneapolis is named after a historical figure it can be proud of: Wendell Phillips. Join TruthToTell for a discussion on good deeds and important memories with psychology professor Pam Fergus and retired history professor Jim Stewart of Macalester College.
