TTT1811 March 12 Etnic Cleansing-Genocide

In the aftermath of International Women’s Day, TruthToTell features a Twin Cities–based effort to support women who have been sexually assaulted by the Myanmar military. Teaming up with ActionAid USA, local organizers are raising funds to supply Dignity Kits for women and girls in Bangladesh refugee camps. The kits include a change of clothes, sanitary pads, clean underwear, slippers, soap, disinfectant, and a solar lantern. Since August 25, 2017, more than 680,000 Rohingyan refugees have crossed into Bangladesh fleeing violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. TruthToTell highlights this inspiring effort to support women and girls in the camps and explores the underlying causes of the genocidal campaign against them. Guests include: Dr. Jim Gambone, filmmaker, intergenerational organizer, and part-time graduate professor of public health; Marie Clarke, executive director of ActionAid USA; and Ellen Kennedy, executive director of World Without Genocide. Project Dignity Fundraiser and Information Session Please join us to meet Marie Clarke, executive director of ActionAid USA, and Dr. Jim Gambone, organizer of Project Dignity.
