To provide some ideological contrast, we’ll also talk with local members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), who are celebrating a victory of one of their own:  Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who last week beat longtime New York City congressman Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary. TTT1824 June 11 Politics Progressive Ideas

While much of the media is focusing on the scramble of candidates following the 2018 DFL convention, little attention has been given to the delegates themselves. Where did they come from? What issues did they care about? What organizations did they represent? And will they be able to appeal across urban and rural boundaries to forge a winning coalition in November? To help illuminate these and other questions, TruthToTell is joined by three guests who seek to connect progressive issues to a message with statewide appeal. The Reverend Oby Ballinger, one of scores of “faith delegates” committed to a social-justice agenda. Chris Conry, strategic campaign director, Take Action Minnesota. David Bly, retiring DFL representative from District 20B, a Greater Minnesota district that includes the communities of Northfield, Lonsdale, and Montgomery.
