TTT1721 May 22 Library Friends - Slam Academy

Monday’s Truth To Tell explores two dramatically divergent approaches to education. Join host Rico Morales as he spotlights a new school focused on digital media as well as the venerable organization supporting the St. Paul Public Library.

In the first half of the show, we will speak with members, students, and staff of Slam Academy of Electronic Arts. This school is proud to launch a brand new educational program dedicated to creative excellence in digital music and media. With classes in Ableton Live, Sound Design, Synthesis, Beatmaking, DJing and more, their curriculum is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of students with a desire to be on the cutting edge of electronic music and art.
In the second half of our program, we will chat with folks from an organization which started In 1945. The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library began as a nonprofit, community membership organization dedicated to supporting the Saint Paul Public Library. Members advocate for a strong library, believing the SPPL is the best and most-used library system of its size in the country and that it deserves an engaged organization that represents the community’s interests on library issues. The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library has an active board of directors, vital civic and corporate partners, more than 3,000 members, and is proud to be honored as one of the nation’s premier Friends organizations.
